What does this role involve?
In your role as a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a crucial part in helping students manage their emotional challenges and thrive in their education. Your daily activities will include:
1. Emotional & Behavioural Support: Help students deal with stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
2. Activity-Based Engagement: Lead or support activities like sports, art or outdoor challenges to build confidence and teamwork.
3. De-escalation & Intervention: Assist with de-escalating difficult situations and ensuring students feel safe.
4. Collaborative Approach: Work closely with teachers and other staff to create and implement support plans.
5. Building Trusting Relationships: Develop strong relationships with students to provide consistent emotional support.
