What skills and experience we're looking for
Candidates must be able to convey core subjects and topic-based learning to pupils who have a range of abilities and be able to monitor and assess to ensure the best possible progress. The successful candidate will have a commitment to developing outstanding practice and the desire and drive to improve educational outcomes and life chances for our very special pupils.
Applications are welcome from UQTs, NQTs and experienced teachers who have the ability to think creatively, are resilient and motivated by challenges, and hold a relevant qualification in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field (if not a subject specialist).
The candidate will be responsible for teaching topics such as food science, nutrition, food processing, food preparation and presentation, food safety and hygiene, and the principles of Food Technology. Experience of working within a SEN setting is desirable but not essential.
