RNLI 1939-45: Stories of Courage Project
The role of Project Officer is an exciting opportunity to join our Heritage Team, explore the history of the RNLI and make it more accessible.
The National Lottery Heritage Fund supported 24-month project will be enthusiastically and professionally delivered by the Project Officer within the budget and set timescale. You will manage a small and diverse team of volunteers who will support your work in research and creation of exhibition content. You will work more widely with RNLI volunteers at lifeboat stations to source information and share content. Delivering innovative and engaging content in a variety of mediums and through a range of events and activities across all our regions is essential for the project, working with internal and external partners.
We are looking for an individual with an enthusiastic approach and with strong heritage experience to share our inspiring war time story but also to help the RNLI to learn more about our war time crews and the experiences of those rescued in the period. We are looking for someone who can creatively share the project outcomes and reach wide and varied audiences.
As a Heritage Project Officer, you’ll be focused on:
* Leading and supporting a small and diverse team of volunteers who will support your work in research and digitisation.
* Planning, managing and delivering an innovative and engaging range of events and activities across all our regions.
* Improving accessibility to our archive records.
* Building upon the success of the RNLI 200th anniversary with established partners and RNLI communities.
As an experienced Heritage professional, you’ll be comfortable working in partnership with external organisations and managing events.
More specifically, you’ll need:
* Demonstrable experience of delivering Heritage events and activities.
* Problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and a passion to deliver the best possible results for this project.
* Ability to effectively communicate across a wide range of audiences and to confidently promote the project and the work of the RNLI.
* Strong project management experience and experience of working with a range of stakeholders.
* Flexibility to undertake travel to work with stakeholders and deliver project events.
So, as a Heritage Project Officer you’ll be excited about the history of the RNLI and how that drives engagement to support our organisation’s aim to reduce drowning. If this role is for you, please apply via the button shown.
