You’ll be on site from day one, working towards gaining a Business Administration Advanced Apprenticeship Programme at Level 3. This will include college work and assignments to complete alongside a detailed portfolio, so it’s very important that you are willing to complete all your coursework on time and meet deadlines while working in the role. You will work with a number of departments in Springfields, learning how each team works together. You will also work with our external stakeholders to gain knowledge on how we collaborate with other organisations and community groups.
We will support you each step of the way, ensuring you have the right assistance to succeed. This will involve working in various teams at Westinghouse - Springfields on site at Salwick, Nr Preston, Lancashire.
You will also have the opportunity to apply for any roles with Westinghouse - Springfields that are available towards the end of your apprenticeship programme.
What Else Will I Learn?
Alongside gaining practical experience in administration, you will learn key skills such as communication, problem-solving, project management, and teamwork across the operational areas.
What Will I be Doing?
You will undertake all the tasks and learning required as an apprentice to become a competent Administrator by the end of the apprenticeship scheme. You’ll experience different aspects of office administration and work closely alongside experienced team members within operations. You will be using company document management systems, OFFICE 365 packages, and reporting systems while following company standard operating procedures to ensure compliance and governance.
You’ll work within teams in recruitment, administration, training, and communications, supporting the business in daily tasks and projects. Taking a confident approach to problem-solving and communicating with other departments in the business, you’ll gain a great understanding and practical experience of what’s involved in keeping our internal and external customers satisfied and providing them with a positive experience. You’ll also gain insight into how manufacturing operations work and what’s involved in getting resources and people into the business, as well as supplies and services to our customers.

Qualifications Required:
5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grades 5-9, A-C, or equivalent qualification.
When Do I Start?
If selected to proceed to the next stage, you’ll be invited to an interview day and will take assessments in Maths, English, and ICT.
If you are selected to join Westinghouse - Springfields, you will start in August 2025.
