Job Purpose:
We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our Engineering team to support with the day to day responsibilities in the department and gaining hands-on experience in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering whilst working towards a Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification.
Responsibilities:
1. Attendance at a technical college as required, leading to recognised NVQ qualification.
2. Achieve professional Engineering Technician (Mechatronics) registration on completion of NVQ qualification.
3. To maintain a logbook over the duration of the apprenticeship period, recording projects and documenting work that has been undertaken and the skills learned.
4. Learning and understanding the importance of Health and Safety within the workplace.
5. To become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of hand tools and associated workshop machine tools.
6. Learn to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
7. To develop the skills and carry out both planned and reactive maintenance from written and verbal instructions as well as drawings within an assigned trade.
8. To be able to demonstrate skills and processes by working independently or within a team.
9. To undertake tasks as instructed, increasing overall contribution to the business.
10. To maintain and to ensure general good housekeeping of the workplace locations.
11. To maintain a smart appearance and to act in a professional manner working in line with values.
12. Ad-hoc projects.
13. Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the role as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
14. GCSEs in English, Maths and a Science related subject at Grade A to C (4-9) or equivalent
