SALARY: £35,000 to £40,000 plus bonus and company car

This is a hybrid role, requiring flexibility to work from our Swindon office, home, and travel to client sites as necessary. The expected pattern is 2 days in the office and 3 days remote/client visits.
Role Purpose
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a pivotal hands-on position within an innovative insurance tech company that is transforming the insurance landscape with advanced digital solutions. The Business Development Manager will lead the charge in expanding our B2B offerings, selling components of our cutting-edge digital insurance platform to other insurers and brokers.
Additionally, the role encompasses driving growth in our B2C segment by building strategic partnerships with distribution outlets, specifically targeting sectors that benefit most from our on-demand insurance products, such as care workers, teachers, and contractors.
B2B Focus:
1. Identify, Qualify, and Convert B2B Opportunities: Develop a robust pipeline of potential clients for digital insurance platform components. Engage with insurers and brokers to understand their needs and present appropriate tailored solutions.
2. Client Relationship Management: Manage and optimize relationships with existing B2B clients, conducting regular review meetings to maximize mutual value and identify upselling opportunities.
3. Pitch Preparation and Presentation: Collaborate with internal teams to prepare compelling proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the benefits of our B2B offerings.
4. Project and Commercial Management: Oversee the onboarding process for new B2B partners, ensuring a smooth integration of the company’s technology into their operations.
B2C Focus:
1. Strategic Partnership Development: Build and nurture partnerships with key distribution outlets, focusing on sectors like care workers, teachers, and contractors that have a high demand for short-term insurance solutions.
2. Market Expansion: Identify new channels and opportunities to expand the company’s reach in the B2C market, leveraging both digital and traditional platforms.
3. Collaborative Growth Initiatives: Work closely with marketing and product teams to align partnership strategies with overall business objectives and customer needs.
General Responsibilities:
1. Client Requests and Feedback: Proactively review and respond to client inquiries and feedback, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and continuous improvement.
2. Management Reporting: Produce insightful MI reports on a weekly and monthly basis, utilising data from various sources to inform strategic decisions.
3. Industry Insight: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Experience Required
1. Proven B2B Sales Experience: Demonstrable success in selling technology solutions within the insurance sector.
2. B2C Partnership Skills: Experience in developing and managing partnerships with distribution outlets, particularly within target sectors like care services, education, and contracting.
3. Digital Savvy: Strong understanding of digital platforms and on-demand service models, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
4. Self-Motivation and Initiative: Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and drive results without constant supervision.
5. Excellent Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
6. Organisational Excellence: Exceptional organisational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools.
Compensation:
