Job Overview
Our 2025 to 2030 Business Plan (known in the industry as AMP8) is our largest and most ambitious plan to date and as a result, we are delighted to recruiting for several newly created positions including a Compliance & Assurance Manager!
Reporting directly into our Head of Risk, Audit & Assurance, this exciting opportunity will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the non-financial programme of assurance, utilising internal and external resource to provide our Executive Team, Board and Regulators with assurance of non-financial aspects of our business.
Our Compliance & Assurance Manager will have 4 direct reports supporting them, with an indirect team of circa 10 but as we grow they will have the opportunity to recruit, further expanding this reputable team's expertise and capacity!
Responsibilities
* Delivery of our non-financial assurance programme: Regulatory reporting, regulatory delivery plans and key operational and corporate assurance reviews.
* Management of our external assurance partners: Supporting the procurement process, defining the scope of external audits, facilitating the audit process & ensuring quality outputs.
* Development of a compliance management framework for oversight of corporate and regulatory compliance (people, processes, procedures and systems reporting).
* Motivating, supporting and developing the team as well as deputising for the Head of Risk, Audit & Assurance in relation to non-financial assurance and Corporate & Regulatory Compliance at Director level.
Southern Water has a large programme of assurance and in AMP8 our regulatory overheads are more than doubling so this is a great opportunity for an experienced Compliance & Assurance professional to apply their skills and knowledge in a challenging, yet rapidly innovating, and truly rewarding industry.
About You
We are keen to hear from applicants who have demonstrable experience in delivering non-financial assurance programmes, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, preferably within a management capacity.
This role will make excellent use of both your people leadership skills as well as your ability to build rapport and influence Director and C-suite level stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to utilise your sound contract management skills to get desired outcomes from external audit providers.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our office in Durrington (Worthing) and home.
