Service Care Solutions are looking for an SEN Case Officer to work with the Camden Council on a 4-month contract.
Location: Camden (Hybrid)
Pay: £29 per hour umbrella ltd
Job role/responsibilities:
To support CSF Special Educational Needs Team in fulfilling its role in carrying out the statutory Education, Health, and Care (EHC) needs assessments of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN).
* Ensure EHC needs assessments are carried out in a timely way in collaboration with involved professionals and families.
* Support backlog of annual reviews and phase transfer 0-25.
* Ensure parents and professionals contribute advice in a timely way in relation to the statutory assessment of individual children and young people undergoing assessment.
* Ensure Assessment Co-ordinators, Planning and Placement Officers, and other professionals including named staff in schools, early years, and college settings are aware of deadlines and requirements.
* Engage parents in the process and ensure they are informed.
* Ensure all parental and practitioner advice is available, using agreed information management systems.
* Draft plans are written, in conjunction with Assessment Co-ordinators, in a timely way.
* Coordinate input by all involved professionals to the EHC needs assessment process to ensure statutory timescales are met.
Knowledge/Experience required:
* Experience in processing annual reviews with a person-centered approach and a thorough understanding of the required process when amending EHCPs.
* Experience and knowledge of the phase transfer process, with the ability to carry out relevant case work and attend annual reviews.
* Case management experience that supports the tribunal service.
