Research Project Officer
The University of Salford has an exciting new opportunity for a Research Project Officer! We are looking for a motivated, organised and passionate individual to ensure the operational delivery of the NAPICU Children and Young People Intensive Mental Health Services (N-CYPIMHS). This part-time three-year post will support a new national research project, funded by the National Association of Psychiatric Intensive Care (NAPICU), generating evidence to improve services for children and young people with serious mental health needs.
The number of children needing intensive mental health care is increasing, highlighting the need for effective child-centred care in tertiary mental health services. This role will operationalise a unique project involving national stakeholder engagement and a mixed methods research design to understand how care for children and young people with acute mental health needs is organised and implemented in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with a team of academic and industry experts to deliver the N-CYPIMHS project.
2. Engage with external stakeholders and mental health practitioners.
3. Support the research team with coordination, implementation, and management of a mixed methods research study.
4. Assist with recruitment and data collection within healthcare services.
5. Ensure effective project administration and governance.
6. Disseminate findings throughout the project lifecycle.
You will bring project management experience and knowledge of the research process, along with strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. You should be able to work calmly under pressure, with attention to detail and flexibility to changing priorities. This post is two days per week (0.4FTE), with flexible working hours to accommodate work-life balance.
