Job summary The Lotus Service (Maternal Mental Health Service) is looking for individuals with lived experience of maternity services, that can offer insight and inspire and give hope to aid recovery. The Peer support worker will provide peer support and practical assistance to enable a more positive engagement with services and experience with maternity services and opportunity to address issues through accessing the appropriate interventions. Main duties of the job The 'Maternal Mental Health Service' (MMHS) which will offer NICE recommended therapy to women with moderate-severe or complex mental health difficulties resulting from the maternity experience, including birth loss and birth trauma. The service will provide consultation, advice, signposting and/or targeted interventions. Presentations related to the above-mentioned mental health difficulties may include (but not limited to) Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following birth trauma, repeated IVF, PTSD following perinatal loss (including recurrent miscarriage, stillbirth, termination of pregnancy for any reason, and severe fear of childbirth (tokophobia).
