Job Description
The Fire Door Installer and Maintenance Operative will be responsible for the installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire doors across multiple sites. This role requires a detail-oriented approach, strong adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform high-quality work efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Installation: Install fire-rated doors according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards
* Inspection: Conduct routine fire door inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations
* Remedial Work: Perform repairs, including adjustments to hardware, seals, and hinges, to meet fire safety requirements
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all installations, inspections, and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
* Health & Safety: Follow health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE, and report safety concerns promptly
* Communication: Work closely with clients, property managers, and team members to coordinate work schedules and site access
Requirements
* Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire door installation and maintenance or a related field
* Qualifications: BM TRADA or FDIS certification in fire door installation is desirable but not essential
* Knowledge: Familiarity with fire safety regulations and standards
* Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools; carpentry skills for door installations and adjustments
* Physical Stamina: Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting doors and working at heights
* Driving License: Full, clean UK driving license (company van provided)
* Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
