Job Description
This role is to work with a leading distribution specialist. They have an extensive network of distribution centres across the country.
They are looking to recruit a Safety, Health and Environmental Business Partner to join the team on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of health, safety, and environmental risk strategy of the business as set by the Head of Safety & Risk and be required to travel nationwide when required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivery of ISO certified safety and environmental management systems.
2. Subject Matter Expert on Health and Safety, Environmental risk, and Safety Culture, including all road transport and operational yard safety at company and third-party locations.
3. Ownership of company health and safety policies, training, and audit regimes, ensuring suitable and sufficient arrangements are in place and managed accordingly.
4. Responsible for the delivery of Human Factors and Safety Culture Awareness program in conjunction with the Head of Safety and Risk.
5. Leading positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Health and Safety Executive, DVSA, Local Authorities, and Trade Associations.
6. Ensuring that all incidents and accidents are fully investigated by trained competent colleagues, with all incidents escalated according to their nature or severity.
Minimum Requirements:
1. At least NEBOSH Level 3 or equivalent.
2. Qualifications and experience with ISO 45001 and ISO integrated systems.
3. Auditing qualifications and experience.
4. Environmental Risk qualifications.
5. Extensive Accident Investigation experience including full root cause analysis.
6. Highly effective communication skills both orally and written, with the ability to negotiate and influence at senior level.
7. A valid UK driving license (company car may be provided).
