Principal Manufacturing Engineer The Principal Manufacturing Engineer is a critical function to create, deliver and implement improvements within the manufacturing facility. Extensive experience in a similar manufacturing environment is essential; large equipment/plant assembly, fabrication, structural steel, skid mounted plant. The Role Drive process improvements/business transformations/design and implement modern techniques and tooling / fixtures. Evaluating and improving quality control processes, production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management Ensuring compliance Reviewing and calculating costs Planning workflow, space requirements and equipment placement to maximise manufacturing efficiency using MRP/ERP Coordinating maintenance servicesRequirements Highly experienced Principle or Senior Manufacturing Engineer Background in a engineered to order (ETO) / fabrication & assembly environment, structural steel Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or other formal productivity improvement programs (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred). Strong systems background in MRP/ERP, project management, scheduling, inventory management and general accounting AutoCAD/ Solidworks would be an advantage.
