About the Role
Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 child with ADHD and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Based in a nurturing primary school in Selly Oak (B29), this long-term role offers the potential to become permanent. You'll help the child develop their confidence, manage their emotions, and fully engage with their learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with ADHD and SEMH needs.
* Work with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets and support plans.
* Use behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation.
* Implement approaches like Zones of Regulation, emotion coaching, and sensory strategies.
* Encourage engagement through structured and creative activities.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience supporting children with ADHD and SEMH needs.
* Knowledge of EHCPs and individual support plans.
* Familiarity with Zones of Regulation, emotion coaching, and de-escalation techniques (desirable).
* Strong behaviour management skills and a patient approach.
* Ability to build positive relationships and support emotional development.
