JOB TITLE: Commercial Counsel (German speaking)
LOCATION: West Midlands (Hybrid)
SALARY: £80K - £110K
THE ROLE: Our client, a global business, has achieved incredible growth over the past number of years both organically and through acquisition. To support this growth, they are seeking a German speaking Commercial Legal Counsel who will report into the Ass. General Counsel - Global. The role will involve:
1. Providing legal support to the German based business covering an exciting mix of transactional support to contracts and a wide range of corporate matters that could include areas such as claims, employment, property, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. However, experience in all these areas is not a prerequisite.
2. You may become involved in future acquisitions across Europe and also help with the vital role of integration.
3. Partnering with business leaders to help them grow whilst ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
4. Managing and mitigating legal risks, drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, and generally supporting an exciting growing business.
THE CANDIDATE: You will be qualified with a relevant legal professional qualification and fluent in German. We are open as to whether you are qualified in the UK or Germany, but a strong knowledge of the basic principles of German law would be very useful.
1. Confident and able to build relationships with people in different parts of the world.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers, and external partners.
4. Excellent time-management skills.
