Job summary Job Advert for Assistant Practitioner, 4th Floor Respiratory Medicine An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner to support our respiratory nursing team as a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner. The ward delivers care to patients across respiratory specialities; Diagnostic Oncology Pulmonary Hypertension Interstitial Lung Disease Cambridge Centre for Lung Infection: lung defence and cystic fibrosis The Assistant Practitioner will support delivering excellence in care alongside a strong ward team of Health care support workers, Registered Nurses, Charge Nurses and three Ward Sisters. The ward is also supported by the Clinical Nurse Specialist teams for each of the care groups. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will have the skills to support the Leadership and Manage a team of Healthcare support workers; to inspire them through role modelling clinical and professional excellence and supporting them in delivering an excellent patient experience. The candidate will need to hold a relevant NVQ level 4 or Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care related subject or equivalent. They will need to have evidence of experience as a Healthcare Support Worker in an acute NHS environment. They will need to have the Physical ability to move equipment and patients throughout the working day. And the ability to communicate complex or sensitive information to patients, staff and relatives, addressing barriers to understanding; provides empathy and reassurance. This post is full time Monday-Friday 12.5 hour shifts 07:00-19:30, 37.5 hours a week.
