Assistant Maintenance Manager - EXPLORE MARRIOTT

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Maintenance Manager who strives to provide and fulfil guest expectations, supports and motivates a team to enhance the guest experience.
JOB SUMMARY
Assists in the management and supervision of all engineering/maintenance operations, including maintaining the building and physical plant with particular attention towards safety and asset protection.
Assists with managing the budget, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience:
* High school diploma; 2 years' experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
* 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; no experience required.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
* Technical understanding of different skills sets performed with the department, of the equipment in hotel and of the legal compliance
* Personable and people orientated demeanor with the ability to build relationships
* Problem solving and decision-making skills
* Planning and organisational skills
* Leadership Skills
* Good level of English essential
SPECIFIC TASKS:
* Manages and assists the maintenance manager with the day-to-day operation of the maintenance department.
* Assists with managing the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems.
* Assists with ensuring regulatory and legal compliance and safety standards.
* Assists with managing and controlling heat, light and power and recommends current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations.
* Distributes preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitors timeliness and quality of completion.
* Assists with overseeing the maintenance of external spaces, guestrooms, public space, restaurants, and recreational facilities.
* Assists with the development of a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection and overseeing execution of plan.
* Coordinates with contractors for bids and construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.
* Performs daily property inspections to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
* Conducts guest room and common area inspection to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
* Recommends and arranges for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
* Manages parts and equipment inventory.
* To adhere to COSHH safety standards and champion the safe and correct use of chemicals throughout the department.
