Nursery Manager Job – Forest Hill, London (SE23)

Are you a passionate and experienced leader looking to manage a thriving nursery in Southeast London?
We are excited to be working with a fantastic 60-place nursery in Forest Hill (SE23) seeking a dedicated and qualified Nursery Manager to join their team.
About the Role:
* Lead and supervise a team of 10 staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
* Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate curriculum and activities for the children.
* Ensure the nursery adheres to all licensing regulations and health & safety standards.
* Foster strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed and happy.
* Maintain open communication, discussing both progress and concerns regarding each child.
* Prepare the nursery for Ofsted inspections, ensuring all systems and processes are in place, and staff understand their roles and responsibilities.
* Create a warm and welcoming environment for children, parents, and staff.
* Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, record-keeping, and maintaining supply inventory.
* Collaborate with other departments to guarantee a cohesive approach to childcare services.
* Address any disciplinary issues or conflicts that may arise.
Who We Are Looking For:
* Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is a must.
* Strong communication skills (verbal & written) with fluency in English.
* Proven leadership abilities to manage and motivate a team.
* Knowledge of nursery operations and best practices.
* Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a demanding environment.
* A passion for early years education and child development.

Person Specification:
* Proven track record in Nursery Management with strong leadership skills.
* Experience managing a nursery with at least 60 places and a minimum Ofsted “Good” rating.
* At least two years of recent experience in a similar setting.
Living within a 30-minute commute is preferred, but not mandatory.
