Job Title: Lecturer in Health and Social Care
Location: UK Management College - Derby Campus, with options for part-time applications in Newcastle, London, and Manchester.
We are seeking a dedicated individual to design, develop, and deliver teaching materials for undergraduate students in Health and Social Care at our institution. This role involves ensuring high-quality educational experiences, aligning with institutional goals and quality standards, and contributing to ongoing research and practice in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teaching & Curriculum Development: Deliver engaging lectures and seminars across core Health and Social Care modules, developing curriculum materials aligned with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Student Assessment & Support: Supervise student projects, internships, and field placements, providing fair and transparent assessment methods and timely feedback.
• Research & Scholarship: Engage in scholarly activities that contribute to the field of Health and Social Care, collaborating with colleagues on research projects and publishing findings that impact teaching and practice.
• Networking & Partnerships: Establish and maintain links with health and social care providers for student placements, research, and community projects, representing the institution in conferences and networks relevant to Health and Social Care education and research.
• Administrative & Quality Assurance: Handle academic duties such as student admissions, timetabling, and assessment records, ensuring all course content and delivery methods comply with quality assurance guidelines.
Person Specification:
* Qualifications: Master's degree in Health and Social Care or related discipline; PhD is preferred or equivalent industry expertise.
* Teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one; PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education is desirable.
* Experience: Demonstrable experience in teaching or training in Health and Social Care at higher education level; practical experience within the health or social care sectors is preferred.
* Evidence of research engagement and publication is advantageous.
* Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
