The Superintendent Lead Radiographer for PRH, HPC and plain film imaging will be managerially and professionally responsible for the leadership and clinical effectiveness of all the Imaging staff at PRH, HPC and across the plain film services at PRH and RSCH.
The Lead Superintendent Radiographer will be an integral member of the radiology/Imaging management team, working closely with the Head of Service, General Manager, and Lead Radiographer for Imaging.
The post holder will ensure the department delivers an exemplary service and experience to patients and members of the public, while adhering to Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) 2017 and Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR) 2017.
The post holder will be expected to cover PRH and HPC sites.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure effective communications through the dissemination of information to all staff and attend necessary meetings.
2. Provide clinical leadership to the imaging radiographers, acting as a role model for best practice.
3. Provide senior professional leadership, motivation, and supervision to all Imaging clinical staff at PRH, HPC, and RSCH.
4. Support and manage modality superintendents at PRH and HPC.
5. Lead the fluoroscopy service at PRH/RSCH, ensuring requests are vetted and booked within required timescales.
6. Manage the annual leave process and sickness procedures for the staff in the department.
7. Act as overall Radiation Protection Supervisor at PRH and HPC in accordance with Ionising regulations.
8. Develop staffing strategies to reduce vacancies, increase retention, and promote career development.

* Imaging experience in NHS setting
* Operational experience within radiology
* Evidence of ability to work to tight deadlines
* Experience of managing an imaging department
* Evidence of flexible working
