The Public Relations Manager in EMEA is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of strategic media engagements globally, with a primary focus on Europe, particularly the UK, France, and the DACH region. This role also involves consultation and alignment with internal APAC team members. The successful candidate will manage and guide external PR agencies on all day-to-day media relations activities to develop and localize content that enhances the company’s visibility in the marketplace.
This person must be a strong writer and editor, capable of crafting compelling press materials and ensuring content accuracy. Additionally, they will support the global press release pipeline, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with overarching communication strategies. The position is integral to the global PR team, collaborating with external agencies and internal teams to elevate the company’s visibility and brand awareness worldwide.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage external EMEA PR agencies (currently in London, Paris, and Munich) and oversee all day-to-day media relations activities. Occasionally support European PR in other regions.
* Support APAC Field Marketing teams with localized PR plans, providing guidance and ensuring alignment with global campaigns and strategies.
* Oversee PR resources to secure placements in relevant media outlets, expanding the company’s visibility within the marketplace and financial community.
* Own the PR strategy for Europe and, with PR agencies, drive editorial story planning, writing, and pitching to local, national, and international press (trade and general business), including all necessary follow-up efforts (fact-finding, quote development/approval, executive interview coordination, etc.) to maximize media attention and build brand awareness.
* Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, spokespeople, local executives, Field Marketing, Application Engineers/Customer Support, and Sales Teams to promote an integrated communications approach across Europe.
* Implement media training for spokespeople.
* Monitor industry issues and the competitive landscape to adjust positioning and messaging as needed.
* Track coverage and metrics, maintain placement trackers, reports, and performance analyses.
* Support the global press release pipeline, ensuring timely development, review, and distribution of content.
* Work on various marketing projects from inception through to completion, spanning cross-functional groups.
Minimum Education, Certification Requirements, and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or Writing.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a media or PR professional.
* PR agency experience required.
* Exceptional writing and editing skills with keen attention to detail.
* Highly organized and able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
* Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
* Prior experience working in a technical business setting with engineers or in engineering simulation preferred; public company experience preferred; B2B software experience a plus.
* Experience working with PR software (e.g., PR Newswire, Muckrack) preferred.
