Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
To further strengthen our Rail & Highways project teams, we are looking for Principal Drainage Engineers to join us. You'll be working across a portfolio of rail or highways projects across the UK, as well as the opportunity to support across different sectors and our projects across the globe.
Your key responsibilities will be:
* Managing and coordinating delivery of your projects to time and budget, ensuring a high standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems across the entire project lifecycle from feasibility to detailed design, including site supervision where required.
* Production of drainage designs, assessments or checking work, including preparation or checking of calculations, written reports, specifications and other contract deliverables.
* Ensuring that design, assessments and checking of designs are in accordance with the current Standards, Codes of Practice and Best Practice.
* Supervising a team of engineers and technicians, mentoring, and developing less experienced engineers and technicians within your project teams, working with line managers to maximise training and development opportunities.
* Developing and maintaining Client relationships through your project work, including identifying and realising any potential business opportunities.

Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you’ll have:

* Skilled analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, current design standards and the latest drainage design tools and software.
* Experience of undertaking or specifying drainage surveys.
* Experience of catchment analysis, hydraulic design, pumping station design and legislative requirements.
* The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractors.
* Good team leadership skills with the ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
