Role Summary:
As a key addition to our expanding commercial team, the Commercial Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the business's continued growth. Reporting directly to the Commercial Accountant, this dynamic role involves close collaboration with Sales, Purchasing, and the Operations team, using developed cost structures to support quoting processes for both new and existing customers. The role is crucial in driving profitability by providing cost mitigation options and regularly reviewing profit performance to highlight areas of concern and opportunity. Responsibilities also include supporting forecasts, offering insights into market segments and pricing strategies, and assisting with the roll-out of the company’s new ERP system through the development of business reports, KPIs, and dashboards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and possess a proactive, detail-oriented approach. You will be a confident communicator with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Sales, Purchasing and Operations team in the quoting of products for new and existing customers using a developed cost structure.
* Proactive approach in providing cost mitigation options for current customers to enhance customer value and loyalty.
* Regular reviews of standard profit, current profit & future profit and highlighting areas of concern and opportunities to the Senior Leadership team and Directors.
* Support the Commercial Accountant in forecasts used across the business.
* Monitor and analyse performance to increase sales and improve profitability.
* Provide commercial insight on the wild bird market segments, as well as pricing strategy and competitor activity.
* Assist in the development of new business reports, KPIs and dashboards across multiple departments as part of the roll out of the Companies recent new ERP system.
* Work on change projects and scenario planning to enable the continued commercial expansion of the business.
* Assist with stock control management, planning and costing.
* Uploading of new and maintenance of existing product listings on to the companies ERP System.
Skills & Experience:
* Experience reviewing and analysing costs, trends, profitability, margins, estimates, and contracts.
* Be able to liaise with all aspects of the business with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
* Be a team player and natural collaborator as well as confident in working independently.
* Proactive with an enthusiastic can-do attitude.
* Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
* Confident with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Able to demonstrate strong computer literacy and confident in quickly learning and mastering new systems and tools.
* Proven experience with Microsoft Excel with knowledge on formulas, pivot tables & look ups.
Package & Benefits:
* Shift – Monday-Friday, 0800-1600hrs
* Salary - £28,000 to £35,000 per year, dependant on experience
