The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a chartered Mechanical Engineer who is looking for technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects, to become a permanent member of our creative, friendly Building Engineering Team in London.
You will work on some of the most exciting and innovative buildings across the world with leading architects. The team are currently involved in projects world-wide from feasibility stage through to practical completion. Current and recent projects include residential and social infrastructure projects such as Ebury Bridge Estate and Canada Water; rail projects such as Sydney Metro, Copenhagen Metro and Euston Station; commercial developments such as 6-8 Bishopsgate, 90 Long Acre; and a variety of projects such as large refurbishments in active buildings, residential projects with high sustainability targets and developing and delivering decarbonisation strategies. The focus of our work is split between new build developments and retrofit/refurbishment projects, given the drive towards both increasing sustainable solutions and supporting our clients reduce the carbon impact of their buildings.
You will be actively involved in driving the design and delivery of building services systems with experience in all aspects of your discipline as well as developing system strategies, including communication with the project team and relevant parties.
The role will see you:
* Directing the comfort and thermal analysis of buildings and spaces.
* Supervising the spatial and technical co-ordination of building services and integration into the design.
* Managing the production of models, drawings, reports and specifications to budgets and deadlines.
* Supervising and coordinating the work of others, including other disciplines and in-house specialists.
Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for a candidate who:
* Has a CEng status or is close to obtaining one.
* Has knowledge and interest in sustainable building design in terms of both energy and carbon, challenging yourself and the rest of the design team to achieve the optimum outcome for the project.
* Has experience in using and leading the use of energy modelling software, ideally IES.
* Possesses strong commercial awareness and experience in predicting, planning and managing resource requirements to achieve financial targets.
