Due to promotion we are looking for a dynamic, motivated and passionate person to join us as a Deputy Ward Manager.
Hadley Unit is the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) 9 bed mixed gender treatment ward that is situated in Worcester.
As one of the Deputy Ward Managers you will work very closely with the Inpatient Wards, Complex Discharge facilitator, Home Treatment Teams and the Crisis Resolution Team.
Part of your role is to ensure patient care is of the highest standards, you act as a role model at all times and use your initiative to maintain quality and safety. Alongside an already established management team you will assist in supporting and educating junior staff.

Main duties of the job
1. Maintain high standards of patient care.
2. Ensure that each patient receives an individual clinical assessment which is the subject of a regularly updated care plan.
3. Ensure that information regarding patients needs and progress are communicated promptly and accurately to their relatives and carers.
4. Provide strong clinical leadership for all staff, maintaining and enhancing own knowledge by making use of educational opportunities, under the guidance of the Ward Manager. This includes appropriate extensions to the role of the nurse/OT in line with NMC/HCPC and Trust policy.
5. Ensure the health and safety of patients, visitors and staff.
6. Have a commitment to work in a family inclusive manner offering advice and support as required.
7. In the absence of the Ward Manager lead a team of clinical staff who will deliver a high-quality service.
8. In the absence of the Ward Manager and out-of-hours participate in the first level on call rota and accept responsibility for the coordination of designated clinical areas within the Trust.

* Registered with the appropriate professional body
* Registered Mental Nurse (RMN), Registered Nurse (Mental) (RN(M)), or Occupational Therapist (OT)
* Teaching and assessing qualification ENB 997/8 or equivalent
* Evidence of continuous skills and knowledge updating (Personal Portfolio)
* Up to date training in MAPA techniques (levels 1, 2 & 3), Intermediate Life Support and treatment of anaphylaxis, Risk management, Mental Health Act 1983, Manual Handling, Fire, Care Programme Approach, NCRS, Blood Glucose Monitoring, Basic First Aid
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
