Background
The College of Life and Environmental Sciences (LES) is home to around 5,000 students studying more than 100 undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research programmes. It has c350 academic and c150 professional services FTE, and an annual budget of £70m. The College is one of 5 colleges in the University and consists of 4 schools: Biosciences, Geography and Earth and Environmental Sciences, Psychology and Sport and Exercise and Rehabilitation.

Role Summary
The LES College Hub has been expanded to improve operational efficiency and align with University-wide strategic priorities, and standardise and streamline key administrative and operational functions across the College. The Hub provides centralised support for finance, HR, governance, compliance, events, and project coordination, ensuring consistency, resilience, and improved service delivery across Schools and the wider College.
The College Projects and Operations Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the College Hub, managing key College-wide projects, and ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery across a range of operational functions.
Main Duties
* College Hub leadership and operational management: Oversee and manage the College Hub, ensuring efficient delivery of centralised operational and administrative services across LES.
* Project management and business support: Lead and coordinate College-wide strategic projects, ensuring they align with University priorities and deliver operational improvements.
* Compliance, governance and policy implementation: Ensure College-wide compliance with University policies, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks, acting as a key point of escalation.
* Finance, HR and recruitment administration: Oversee financial administration, budget planning, recruitment, and HR processes, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
* College-wide events and projects: Lead the organisation and administration of College events, governance meetings, and strategic initiatives, ensuring smooth execution.
* Team leadership: Manage and support the College Hub team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring effective workload distribution.
* Flexible and collaborative working: Work proactively and flexibly, adapting to evolving priorities and collaborating across Schools, Professional Services, and the wider University.
* Other Duties: Undertake any other responsibilities commensurate with the role, as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
* Degree level qualification or equivalent with significant experience in a similar role.
* Proven experience in project management, operational management, and executive support.
* Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
* Experience in financial management and HR processes.
* Knowledge of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010 and commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
