Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Product Knowledge: Learn the fundamentals of Schneider Electric products and solutions.
* Customer Support: Support customers by selecting products and developing solutions, while understanding technical specifications and drawings.
* Customer Visits: Visit customer sites to understand their needs and how Schneider Electric can help.
* Project Management: Manage a list of projects, ensuring both short-term and long-term plans are in place. Sell a complete range of Schneider Electric products that suit the customer’s needs.
* Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
* CRM Excellence: Use CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools to track all customer interactions and opportunities, making sure to document everything clearly.

Course contents
* How to comply with statutory requirements and stringent organisational safety requirements
* Producing components using hand fitting techniques
* Producing Electrical or Electronic Drawings using a Computer Aided Design (CAD) system
* Preparing and using lathes, milling and other general or specialist machines and High Tech equipment
* Wiring and testing electrical equipment, assembling and testing electronic circuits
* Using computer software packages to assist with engineering activities
* Producing engineering project plans
* Maintaining and improving electrical equipment and systems
* Project management in undertaking engineering activities
* Producing and working to engineering specifications and briefs, presenting and technical problem solving
* Scheduling and managing engineering activities
* Electrical and electronic product manufacturing and testing
* Demonstrating technical and commercial management in planning and managing tasks and resources
Your training plan
During your apprenticeship, you will receive two types of training.
On-the-job training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform your role. This will include skills and knowledge that are outside of the apprenticeship but necessary for the job. In addition to ‘on-the-job’ training, they will support you in other ways to ensure your success.
Types of support will include:

* Feedback opportunities
Off-the-job training will be provided by a carefully selected training provider during your normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% of your working hours (approximately 6 hours per week) completing ‘off-the-job’ training. This is protected time and a requirement for apprenticeship delivery. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard, enabling you to achieve occupational competence.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
* 5 GCSEs including Maths, English, and STEM related (grade Grade 4/C or above)
A Level in:
* including Maths/Physics (grade A minimum of 112 UCAS points)

Other requirements
A full UK driving license is required for this role, but candidates that are actively in the process of obtaining one will be considered. All applicants must have a permanent right to work in the UK, as Schneider Electric is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
