Responsible for providing comprehensive total rewards internal consultative services to assigned Functional Areas of the U.S. Business (i.e. R&D, Commercial, Support Functions and Manufacturing). The role will cross multiple U.S. Business Activities. Responsibilities would include but not be limited to serving as primary subject matter expert to P&C and business, support regional executive compensation administration, equity and stock purchase program management, market pricing strategy, base salary administration, short-term incentive program design and administration (bonus and sales incentive), long-term incentive program design and administration (cash and equity), employee recognition program design and administration, performance management, pay equity, pay transparency, etc.
Main Responsibilities
1. Serves as compensation leader for Functional Areas of responsibility. Partners with People Business Partner Leads and their teams, the Talent Acquisition team and business leaders to provide comprehensive compensation consultative guidance.
2. Understands the total rewards landscape for all areas within Functional Areas of responsibility. Requires close cooperation with P&C Leadership and Business Leadership, to understand compensation/total reward challenges and propose creative and responsible solutions (requires deep understanding of jobs, hot skill sets, labor market dynamics, business challenges, etc.)
3. Provides effective transfer of knowledge leading to full understanding of Functional Area audiences on all compensation topics leveraging all available resources to do so (technology, internal P&C communications resources, etc.)
4. Oversees implementation of global/region compensation strategy across Functional Areas of responsibility (in partnership with People & Culture and Business Leaders)
5. Designs and implements competitive salary structures and compensation programs
6. Conducts market research and benchmarking on all element of compensation to ensure company pay practices are competitive within the industry
7. Utilizes compensation analytic software and desktop tools including Excel and Power BI to efficiently analyze and interpret compensation data and provide insights to senior leadership
8. Ensures effective marketing pricing structure is in-place at all times for all jobs across Functional Areas of responsibility. Involves provision of in-depth compensation analysis on complex market pricing and compensation-related initiatives
9. Manages the annual compensation review process, including merit increases, promotions and bonus allocations.
10. Ensures compliance with all relevant compensation laws and regulations, including FLSA, EEO, and pay equity standards.
11. Responsible for administration of local executive compensation program
12. Responsible for local management and implementation of company equity programs (stock, stock purchase and cash)
13. Partners to support Employee Recognition Program and company Performance Management Program.
14. Provides consultative guidance of grading of jobs in the Sanofi Global Grading Structure
15. Designs new and creative local compensation programs to meet needs of business as appropriate. Recommends the use of existing compensation programs/solutions as appropriate.
16. Partners closely with appropriate Functional Area Finance, Legal, Payroll, Global and Regional R&P, external partners and/or any other relevant internal or external partners/resources as appropriate
About you
17. Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in HR Management or related field preferred
18. Minimum of 7 years of progressive compensation related development. Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Industry experience preferred
19. Expert technical skills in the following aspects of compensation required; Excel, Power Point, Word (Access Database knowledge a plus), market pricing, total rewards understanding, job classification, base salary administration, salary data analysis, interpretation and recommendations, short-term incentives, long-term incentives. Expert ability to access data from existing compensation module of HRIS system and external survey provider databases. Sales compensation and employee recognition experience preferred.

21. World at Work Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification preferred.
