Midland Care Home is the latest addition to the Hampton Healthcare portfolio offering general care, specialist care for those with dementia or physical disability and nursing care. We are looking for flexible individuals to assist in the laundry, kitchen and in the domestic departments on a rota basis, 24 hours per week.

Tasks will primarily involve maintaining the cleanliness of the Home to a very high standard and will vary on a daily basis as determined by the Manager/your Line Manager, these will include:
1. The vacuuming of rooms and corridors and emptying all waste bins
2. Cleaning the glass and mirrors
3. Dusting/wiping of all room surfaces including paintwork
4. Removing of cobwebs
5. Sweeping and mopping of floor surfaces
6. Cleaning toilets and bathrooms
7. Clean areas assigned
8. Shampoo carpets to ensure rooms are odour free
9. Report any maintenance concerns to the appropriate person
10. Keep cleaning store clean and tidy at all times
11. Keep cleaning materials stored safely
12. Ensure cleaning materials are never left unattended
13. Ensure all CoSHH and H&S (including risk assessments) guidelines are followed at all times
14. Ensure deep cleaning of rooms is carried out monthly
15. Maintain stock control
16. Ensure all necessary documentation is accessible, up to date and completed promptly, including MSDSs
17. Receive and sort clothes and linen
18. Respect the residents’ clothing by not mixing items and wash, dry and iron as per item instructions
19. Soiled items should be kept in their red bags
20. Operate washers and dryers in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions
21. Use recommended quantities of products
22. Fold, wrap or hang all completed laundry
23. Ironing is to be done daily and must be reported to most Senior on duty with reasons if not complete
24. All named residents’ laundry should be placed in their drawer using trolley provided
25. All linen should be placed in linen cupboards
26. Make necessary minor repairs eg missing buttons and tears, to items before returning
27. All clothes/items should be named before going into residents’ laundry drawers
28. Report all concerns/maintenance issues to Manager on duty immediately
29. Stock check of all materials should be done regularly and ordered promptly
30. Follow and complete the open up and close down procedures
31. Follow the laundry procedures
32. Maintain laundry area in a clean and orderly manner
Hours are mostly 8am - 2pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Part-time hours: 19.5 per week
