My client (nursery) in Nottingham is seeking a Nursery Deputy Manager. You must be qualified to a minimum of a level 3 childcare qualification with nursery management experience.
We are a busy 55 place, village Day Nursery, looking for an enthusiastic person, with a good sense of humour, who is committed to the work, but flexible as the need arises.
You must be able to work under pressure and have some experience of managing a day nursery. The role will involve the day-to-day management of the setting to support the Nursery Manager, ensuring that the highest quality of care and education are delivered to our children and parents, and as a ‘hands on’ deputy manager you will also be working with the children.
You will have a Level 3 or above in Childcare, along with a minimum of 2 years experience within an Early Years Setting.
Salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience.
We are committed to safeguarding and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
Essential Criteria
Holds a suitable level 3 or above qualification in Early Years, and is committed to continual personal and professional development.
At least 2 years experience working within a Childcare Setting.
High Levels of interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate & inspire staff.
Clear, demonstrable understanding of Ofsted requirements.
Clear, demonstrable understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and child development, and the ability to support staff to plan and implement the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Ability to promote good practice and support all staff within the setting
Have a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality
Has the ability to work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues within the setting, and with outside agencies
Ability to use own initiative and work within a team
Ability to form professional relationships with children, parents and other staff members.
Ability to work in Partnership with Parents, implement and manage an effective parent liaison programme, ensuring regular communication and interaction with parents.
Ability to create a stimulating and attractive environment for the children, and be a positive role model to the children and staff at all times.
Willing to work within the settings policies, procedures & processes and to meet required standards of the role
Experience of supervising other staff members, including evaluating performance and encouraging continual professional development
Relevant Health & Safety Knowledge
Understanding of Code of Practice on SEN, Inclusion and Equal Opportunities
Clear understanding of Safeguarding
Desirable Criteria
At least 1 years Supervisory / Management experience, within a childcare setting.
Hands on Experience of Ofsted Inspection
Experience of HR processes
Experience working within a Self-Reflective practice
Implementation of management & marketing ideas
Experience of budgeting and working to financial targets
Ability to use ICT equipment
The ability to help children, families & staff respect people of different race, ability, gender, religion and culture
