The Apprenticeship and Work Experience Coordinator will provide:
· comprehensive and sustainable apprenticeship and work experience support, contributing to the recruitment, retention and education of the workforce
· support, information and advice to learners / students (i.e. those completing apprenticeships with the Trust or students considering a career in the NHS)
· effective administrative systems, processes and communications.
In addition, the post holder will engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to identify new apprenticeship training and work experience opportunities, liaise with local schools and colleges to promote career opportunities to students and/or providing work experience opportunities within the Trust, as well as acting as a point of contact for managers, learners and external training providers.
Work with internal colleagues, such as the Practice and Professional Development team to help co-ordinate apprenticeship and non-clinical work experience programmes. The post holder will also support the process of commissioning, and evaluation of quality apprenticeship programmes across the Trust ensuring a focus on maximising the apprenticeship levy to meet the Trust’s Workforce Operating Plan to grow the future workforce and retain staff by providing opportunities for career and professional development needs.
Allocates tasks To the Business Support Officer.
You will perform a key role in the coordination, planning and delivery of desired outcomes in ensuring the apprenticeship and work experience programmes are on track to meet the needs of the organisation. This will involve:
• Providing guidance and support of apprenticeship or work experience placements, in accordance with risk assessments and Trust policy.
• Internal and external stakeholder engagement to promote NHS careers and apprenticeships within the local community.
• Management of resources including the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) account.
• Support the procurement of high-quality training providers and delivery of associated quality assurance processes.
• Arrange and support negotiations related to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and involve Trust's Finance & Procurement for sign off.
• Oversee the recruitment of apprentices and those on work experience placements.
• Plan and deliver internal and external apprenticeship marketing events to raise awareness of apprenticeship career pathways.
• Prepare reports on apprenticeship activity to meet educational governance requirements.
• Participate in networks and forums to support the sharing, dissemination and adoption of best practice

Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
