We are looking for a Test Engineer Manager with experience of building frameworks and strategies to test Data platforms. Reporting to our Head of Quality Assurance, you'll work within our Data and Transformation Team to accelerate our test engineering transformation, embedding test solutions which ensure the Openwork Partnership has built the right products and services to the right quality, evidencing the change delivers the agreed outcomes. We’re improving our analytical data ecosystem, by undertaking a data simplification programme with the need for a new Trusted Data Capability as the core enablement service providing the insights across our proposition. This role will provide the opportunity to help shape our new Trusted Data Capability. Your responsibilities will include: Test and validate enterprise-grade data solutions within Microsoft Azure. Mentor and support junior colleagues in developing their data testing skills in Azure. Stay up-to-date with evolving technologies to ensure the data platform and the engineering team remain current and adhere to relevant data governance and compliance policies. Act as a key point of contact for inter and intra departmental interaction Represent the test team for the business across all levels and enabling customer relationships Manage the testing resource, schedule and workloads across full range of projects Identify and agree the testing activities for testers and wider team members Plan the full Openwork testing process Checking and coordinate the availability of the resources to execute testing activities across full program of development Reviewing stories, requirements, acceptance criteria and test scripts to ensure fit for purpose and maintain quality What will you need to succeed? Experience in a commercial environment testing data solutions in the following areas: Relational database design Data warehouse reference architectures Data migration MI/BI reporting Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Databricks. Experience testing Databricks-based data warehouses following the medallion architecture. Proficiency in testing ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory or similar. Established experience of User, System and Performance Testing. Background in Financial Services and Technology Experience working with external software houses and 3rd party integrators ISEB Foundation qualification Understanding of the project life cycle and business processes. Good experience of Agile working practices Knowledge of Defect Reporting processes and software. Strong people and relationship management Delivery focused Effective written and face to face communications; presents ideas logically. Ability to design test plans and scripts; strong ownership of key testing activities. Strong analytical skills; structured in gathering requirements and feedback. Good planning and organisational skills; able to prioritise and manage own workload Flexible and adaptable to changing business objectives. Why us?
