We are seeking an experienced Senior Administrator to join our team as our Deputy Security Controller to provide day to day support to the Security Controller. The ideal candidate will be trained and developed within this role with a view to ultimately take on the full Security Controller role in the future.
This is a pivotal role in the company, it involves ensuring we are compliant with security standards, maintaining security checks/clearances, and implementing robust security policies across the organisation. You will play a critical role in safeguarding our people, facilities, and assets while fostering a positive security culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Maintain security accreditations acting as the primary contact for audits.
* Manage, review and maintain the company security risk register taking preventive measures as needed to mitigate risk.
* Develop, implement, and review security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant Security Frameworks.
* Chair regular security meetings and provide security advice to the Board Level Contact.
* Assist in managing security guards, key issue/registers, site security equipment and assets.
* Manage the BPSS and security clearance process providing support and guidance to the Personnel Security administrator, conducting internal audits for compliance.
* Process overseas visitor requests.
* Implement and maintain personnel security policies aligned with Government standards.
* Manage document handling, and secure asset movements.
* Ensure mustering and access control measures are regularly reviewed and compliant.
* Develop and implement incident management policies, including training for key personnel.
* Investigate breaches, report criminal activity, and liaise with relevant authorities.
* Drive security awareness through initiatives and staff training sessions.
* Ensure compliance with the “need-to-know” principle for sensitive assets.
* Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role.
About the person:
Qualifications / Education:
* Qualified to a minimum of a Level 2 standard in English Language or equivalent (GCSE).
Technical Skills / Experience:
* Proven experience in a Deputy Security Controller role or Quality Assurance/ Auditing/ H&S role involving process, risk mitigation and auditing.
* Experience conducting audits and staff security appraisals.
* Experience of managing risk and actions taken to mitigate.
* Understanding of risks associated with non-compliance of policies and legislation.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Strong communication skills both written and oral with a positive and professional attitude.
* A proactive approach to security challenges with excellent organisational skills.
* Organised, inquisitive and solutions orientated.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a strong security culture.
* Full driving licence and ability to obtain/maintain the appropriate level of Government security clearance.
* Must be a British Citizen.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Knowledge of UK Security Vetting procedures and personnel clearance policies.
* Working knowledge of Government Security Policy.
* DISA-accredited Security Controller and Personnel Security & Vetting courses.
