With headquarters in Gateshead, the site serves as a manufacturing, assembly, and test facility.
Role Description
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the QHSE Manager will be responsible for the Company's QHSE strategy including the Company's QA Manual, risk assessments, and developing internal policy with the Business Managers.
The QHSE Manager is a "hands-on" role and the primary duties will be to proactively promote and support a positive culture of quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) within the business. The QHSE Manager will support the Company's QHSE objectives by engaging with staff, operational teams, supporting and educating them on the importance and delivery of QHSE standards.
The QHSE Manager will improve performance through the monitoring and inspections of QHSE management systems and procedures at all levels, including ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO9001.
The position is based at our HQ / main manufacturing site in Gateshead; some travel to other inter-company sites within the UK will be required in terms of conducting audits.
Qualifications and Experience
* HND or higher in a relevant discipline
* Recognised H&S qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH certificate)
* Proven experience in a similar role within a medium / heavy engineering environment would be advantageous
* Strong report writing skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing HSE practices
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, particularly in conducting root cause analysis
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
* Fully experienced with IT software packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
