- EV, Automotive & Motorsport I am seeking a highly skilled Team Lead – Test and Validation to join my clients dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the performance and reliability of our systems to new heights.
Role: Team Lead
- Test & Validation Salary: £70k to £80k Location: Northamptonshire Sector: EV, Motorsport & Automotive Key Responsibilities: Manage the HV Test facility, ensuring compliance with Safety Management System and optimizing operational efficiency.
Lead the Development, Validation, and Verification (DVP) testing team, ensuring project technical requirements are met and engineering risks are mitigated.
Create, maintain, and implement Test Procedure documentation, ensuring the collection of high-quality data and appropriate testing metrics.
Oversee planning and logistics for internal and external HV systems testing, including troubleshooting and providing customer support.
Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to evaluate testing facilities and prepare business cases for in-house testing when required.
Own the End-of-Line testing process, from identifying requirements to full implementation.
Address issues during testing and collaborate with Engineering teams and Management for resolutions.
Manage parts planning for testing activities, ensuring timely access to required components.
Review and approve Test Plans, Procedures, and Test Reports.
Assist in producing and approving Build Documentation, including risk assessments and work instructions.
Support the Powertrain Build Manager in upholding HV assembly and testing standards.
Promote a safety-first culture, adhering to health and safety policies.
Develop and maintain Risk Assessments, Engineering Guides, and other documentation for testing activities.
Ensure all test equipment remains compliant and safe for use.
Work closely with the Powertrain Manager on timelines, documentation, and validation for HV Build & Test activities.
Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and mentor team members to enhance their skills.
Promote clear communication and teamwork within the department and across Ensure accurate and timely completion of all business documentation.
Support the Powertrain Manager with additional responsibilities as needed.
Utilize the 5C Concerns Process to capture and resolve engineering concerns.
Assist with the packaging and shipping of Powertrain components when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience: Advanced formal training in a relevant field (BTEC National Certificate, ONC level, 'A' Levels, or equivalent).
Experience building HV systems/components in an OEM, Tier 1 supplier, engineering consultancy, or motorsport environment.
Proven experience in managing, scheduling, budgeting, and resourcing large-scale engineering projects.
Experience working with systems up to 800V as a Senior Authorised Person.
