Head of SME Underwriting & Portfolio Management
National salary – circa £110,000, London salary – circa £130,000 Depending on Experience
We have an excellent opportunity to lead our Digital business and support the performance across SME at Aviva. This role will be reporting to our SME Portfolio Director and would suit a strong, commercially minded leader who is looking to deliver excellent customer outcomes and grow a fantastic Digital business through active portfolio management, underpinned and driven by a risk-aware culture. You will be responsible for delivering financial plan outcomes and supporting a number one service for our Brokers alongside driving our Underwriting and digitisation strategy within Digital as well as supporting the portfolio management of our Schemes.
A bit about the job:
In this role you will lead our Digital business, to deliver enhanced performance and improved customer outcomes as well as driving portfolio mix and identifying areas/opportunities for growth. You will achieve this through robust performance management, market pricing, rating and strong Underwriting principles alongside making commercial decisions on Profit and Loss of the business. Focused on delivering for our customers and Brokers, you will lead a team of circa 5 to drive the strategy for our Digital business and support the delivery of our Schemes business through rate delivery, mix management and risk selection and realisation of etrade excellence.
Skills and experience we are looking for:
* Strong experience of portfolio management & driving growth through portfolio management
* Strong understanding of SME Market and the issues and challenges facing our SME customers
* Significant experience in either Portfolio Management, Actuarial, Technical or Underwriting
* Strong commercial focus, technical expertise, communication and a risk and control mindset
* Experience in a leadership role and ability to manage senior partners both internally and externally

* National salary circa £110,000 – London salary circa £130,000, (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
