The Group Practice at River Place JOB DESCRIPTION (February 2025) JOB TITLE: EXPERIENCED GP CARE NAVIGATOR/RECEPTIONIST REPORTS TO: RECEPTION MANAGER HOURS: Full-time 37.5 hours per week Core hours: Monday to Friday 7.5 hours a day plus 1-hour unpaid lunch break between core hours of 8.00am and 7.30pm Job Summary Welcome, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person, phone or e-mail. Job Responsibilities Customer Service Signposting patients to the correct service. Competently deal with email, face to face and phone queries from patients, staff and healthcare professionals. Recognise peoples needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly. Teamwork Supporting a team of 8 reception colleagues. Providing occasional holiday and sickness cover for colleagues. Attend and contribute to team and practice meetings. IT/ Admin Able to manage key tasks (registrations, online e-Consults, emails, scanning, repeat prescriptions, texts, booking appointments). Having a basic understanding of IT (Microsoft Word) Willingness to learn & pick up new technology (e.g. NHS apps) Carry out standard GP reception admin and reception tasks such as: booking appointments, managing home visit requests, repeat prescriptions, calling/recalling patients for appointments. Other Tasks Keep reception area clean & tidy Being able to open and close the building Basic knowledge of health and safety.
