Responsibilities
* Assessing Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data from multiple equipment across multiple software platforms to provide high quality survey data.
* Obtain briefs prior to each survey to ensure correct and complete survey results are obtained in line with client specifications
* Assessment of GPR data in the detection of utilities or application of GPR in other fields such as structural assessment;
* Accurately and consistently record underground utility assets and manhole inspection reports, along with above ground topographical surveying.
* Provide technical input and guidance to our business development and sales teams
* To develop a good understanding of TSA (The Survey Association) guidelines and inhouse CAD standards.
* Ensure that all GPR survey kit is maintained and well kept.
* Assist with the concrete scanning + more in depth GPR surveys – collecting and post processing data on site
* You will assist the GPR Post Processing team & CAD Technicians to combine multiple data sets together, data tidying and to produce final drawings for Client issue.
* You will be processing 3D polyline CAD models to align with PAS128, Vision & 3rd party standards using AutoCAD.
* You will develop an understanding of Logic with the surveyed utility data with how utilities connect to fixtures, flow directions of drainage systems to help aid your processing of the data and to feed back any issues with the surveyed data to the Surveyors or Technicians.
* Checking the quality of information collected on-site, and the successful transition to deliverables.
* You could be rotated across all departments depending on workloads to enable you to gain experience across the full spectrum of the business, allowing you to decide which path best suits you.
Requirements
* Minimum of 1-2 years of GPR analysis or relevant experience
* Experience using GPR post-processing software
* Experience using AutoCAD
* Good IT skills including competency in the Microsoft Office software
* Ability to work with GPR hardware and software
* Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a team and deal with clients on-site.
* Clean, full manual driving license
Desirables
* An Earth Sciences Masters Degree or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience of carrying out fieldwork for below-ground utility surveys on varied sites.
* Experienced in the use of Electromagnetic location and ground penetrating radar, along with GPS/GNSS acquisition.
* A good understanding of common industry practices and standards in regards to utility detection, such as PAS 128 and TSA
* Good working knowledge of surveying equipment, such as GPR, CAT and Genny utility detection equipment
* Driven to innovate and improve workflows with new technology, such as Augmented Reality and GIS.
* This can be a fast-paced environment that changes quickly, so candidates need to be able to adapt to change and prioritising workloads.
* We want somebody who can multi-task, be adaptable, and become a valuable member of our team.
* Able to code with Python and ArcPy to automate certain workflows
* CSCS Card for site visits to construction sites
* Surveying/Engineering/Construction Experience
