This is an opportunity to be part of a service which makes a real difference to the lives of those people and their families. About the Role Our support workers fulfil an essential role. Within our day services this includes: Planning and leading group activities Acting as a shared or 1:1 support worker Enabling people to participate by finding ways for them to be active and engaged Completing personal care (assisting a person to use the toilet or change a continence pad) as required Supporting people at mealtimes Completing records of care and support Maintaining compliance with mandatory training Supporting your colleagues to maintain a positive and professional working environment Acting as a transport escort as required Manual handling including using hoists, pushing wheelchairs etc (full training provided) Assisting with physically demanding activities such as completion of physiotherapy or rebound therapy exercises About You To apply you will have: Care experience (preferred but not essential) Transferable skills The ability to work in a physically demanding role You can expect: A comprehensive induction Regular supervision A supportive team around you A full training programme Specific vehicle competency checks and relevant training (where relevant for driving duties) Why B&NES Council ?
