As Head of Supply Chain, you will:
1. Develop & Implement Supply Chain Strategy – Define and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with PDSA’s mission, ensuring efficiency, risk management, and long-term operational stability.
2. Leadership & Team Development – Lead and develop the supply chain team, overseeing a structure of direct and indirect reports to ensure high performance and professional growth.
3. Supplier Negotiation & Relationship Management – Oversee high-level supplier negotiations and maintain strategic partnerships to secure favourable agreements that provide value for money and service quality.
4. Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure supply chain operations adhere to legal, regulatory, and internal policies while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
5. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement – Establish KPIs, monitor performance, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and drive cost savings.
6. Budget & Cost Efficiency Management – Manage and optimise a £40 million supply chain budget, ensuring financial sustainability and value-driven procurement.
We’re seeking someone with:
1. Extensive Supply Chain Leadership – Proven experience in managing complex supply chain functions across a geographically dispersed organisation.
2. Strategic Procurement & Contract Management – Expertise in procurement, contract negotiation, and the use of frameworks (e.g., Crown Commercial) to deliver value.
3. Change Management & Process Improvement – Demonstrated ability to embed new ways of working across multiple areas within an organisation.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Internal Service Management – Experience in acting as an internal service provider to operational teams and managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
5. Financial Acumen & Budget Management – Strong experience in managing multi-million-pound budgets to drive cost efficiencies.
6. Relevant Professional Qualifications – Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, or Full MCIPS accreditation.
