Qualified / Finalist / PQ Management Accountant required for new permanent opportunity in Milton Keynes

Hays are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Management Accountant to join our local clients' finance team, this innovative PE backed business is going through a period of growth and looking to expand its team.
Your new role
The role will report into the Group Financial Controller and the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, analysing financial data, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. Key responsibilities will include:
1. Support the monthly financial close process including the preparation of month end reports, journals and to review control accounts to ensure all financial information is correct and up to date.
2. Assist in the preparation of year end accounts and tax returns.
3. Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and all global ad hoc tax compliance work.
4. Assist in the preparation of the budget.
5. Assist in the annual audit of the group.
6. Analyse financial variances providing clear and concise information as well as understanding of issues to escalate and an ownership of the management accounts.
7. Effectively communicate issues and provide advice to the rest of the finance team and a hunger to resolve issues as they are identified.
8. Respond to ad-hoc information requests and performing ad-hoc activities.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Qualified / Finalist / PQ (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.
2. Similar experience in management accounting or a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Experience working in high performing teams and an appreciation of the importance of deadlines and commitments.
8. Willingness to develop skills and add value to the finance function.
9. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
