Working as a whole school technician, you will assist the teaching staff in the work necessary in practical areas of the science department as well as undertaking Audio Visual duties.
Duties include:
1. Preparing materials, equipment, and teaching resources for use by teachers and students within the science department.
2. Assisting the teaching staff within the Science department and supporting the use of computer aides/teaching resources throughout the school.
3. Keeping abreast of Health and Safety legislation and assisting with setting up and maintaining Audio Visual equipment.
4. Providing support to all departments within the school as requested by the Head Teacher or nominee, while being based within the Science department.
5. Servicing Science practical areas and workrooms, ensuring that all equipment and materials are presented and stored in a safe condition.
Requirements:
1. Experience of working in a science/audio visual department.
2. Awareness of statutory inspection requirements and Health and Safety law.
3. Effective communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative under pressure and to tight deadlines.
4. Evidence of ability to follow safe working procedures and experience of handling chemicals.
5. Education to HNC level or equivalent experience and Health and Safety qualifications are desirable.
6. Experience of working in a busy science department is preferred.
