An exciting opportunity for a Senior Fluids Engineer to join the engineering department and play an essential role in the delivery of complex solutions for the steel and aluminum rolling industry.
Working alongside our multi-discipline teams you will contribute to the design and implementation of projects throughout the full lifecycle, by providing technical solutions from conception to completion tailored to our customer’s needs.
As a Senior Fluids Engineer, you’ll propose and design hydraulic and fluid utility systems including water, air (pneumatic), oil lubrication and emulsion systems.
This role is predominantly office based but occasional international travel will be required to visit customers & suppliers.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team to achieve project requirements.
2. Manage budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and to cost.
3. Produce documentation including block diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, Bill of Materials & calculations for the various fluid systems.
4. Ensure that the design and manufacture of equipment is carried out to the required standards, within budget and to agreed timescales.
5. Provide technical support to ensure that equipment is manufactured, tested, installed and commissioned in accordance with the design and operational requirements.
6. Participate in equipment inspection, testing and commissioning activities at manufacturer and customer sites.
7. Support the proposals team by producing technical specifications & scopes of supply for the fluid systems. This includes costing of equipment for the proposal bids.
8. Develop, maintain, and cultivate relationships with customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors to ensure successful project execution.
9. Work with the Plant coordination team to layout the fluids equipment in 2D & 3D environments.
10. It would be desirable if the engineer can support and/or participate in the 3D plant pipe routing and interfacing using Plant3D (or has experience with a similar plant piping package), to allow the creation of piping orthographic and isometric drawings.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Knowledge and understanding of fluids power and/or utility systems.
2. Awareness of best engineering practices including relevant standards and legislation.
3. IT literate including competence in Autodesk products such as AutoCAD and Plant3D.
4. Ability to communicate efficiently on both technical and non-technical issues.
5. Knowledge and experience of the design, manufacture, erection and commission phases of capital plant projects.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must have current UK Driving License, as well as the right to live and work in the UK and travel internationally without restrictions, if required, occasionally at short notice.
