Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietitian to join our busy and friendly EPUT Dietetic Team in West Essex. EPUT is an integrated Community and Mental Health Trust and we are looking for an enthusiastic HCPC registered Dietitian for this developmental post providing a service to both our community and adult mental health services. The post is nominally based at the Latton Bush Centre, Harlow, but will cover a wider geographic area including Epping Forest, Harlow and Saffron Walden.
At Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) we are keen to recruit, retain and further aid the development of enthusiastic and confident dietitians. This post presents the opportunity to gain or extend your experience in community and mental health settings and would be suitable for a newly qualified dietitian or a dietitian keen to gain or extend current experience. This is a developmental post with the intention of progressing to Band 6 once all competencies are met.
Main duties of the job
The post will offer dietetic expertise to service users, carers and other health care professionals in a variety of settings including trust premises and community locations. Our Community service supports patients in their own homes and Nursing/Residential Homes and includes our Home Enteral Feeding Service. We provide a service to local GP practices that may include general as well as diabetes clinics. The post may also include cover for our cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation groups.
Depending on level of specialism and mental health experience you will provide nutritional or dietetic advice, treatment and support to service users taking into account their mental, psychological, emotional and physical needs. This is a development post and support will be provided from the EPUT West Essex dietetic team, mental health dietitians across EPUT as well as other professions specialising in mental health and AHP leads.

EPUT is very supportive of career development and progression and continuous professional development is high on the agenda both within and outside the Trust. There may be opportunities to gain experience with or shadow our X-PERT diabetes group education programmes and specialist gastroenterology clinics for example. You will also take an active part in the provision of training for dietetic students from the University of Hertfordshire.
The post will support PCNs across West Essex to deliver the West Essex One Health and Care Partnerships Out of Hospital strategy and adopt the principles of population health management to support and improve the health and wellbeing of the West Essex PCN population addressing health inequalities and tackling the underlying causes of ill health.
