Job Description
Are you driven to help reduce our impact on the climate? We are seeking an experienced leader with a proven track record in managing and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across projects ranging from local schemes to high-profile infrastructure projects. You will support clients in transport, power, renewable energy, and water sectors to deliver low-carbon, sustainable projects.
The role is part of our expanding Carbon and ESG Practice, comprising over 50 professionals across the UK. The Practice offers services in decarbonisation, climate risk, circular economy, waste management, social impact, and sustainability to corporates, organizations, and infrastructure providers.
You will collaborate with Practice leadership and the Carbon Service Line lead to grow greenhouse gas advisory services aligned with our strategic priorities.
This position offers flexibility regarding location, supporting hybrid working. You can be based in Birmingham, Basingstoke, Bristol, Cardiff, Croydon, Dublin, Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Nottingham, or Manchester.
Candidate Requirements
* Demonstrable expertise in greenhouse gas management and reporting, including assessing emissions on large infrastructure projects in sectors like transport, power, renewables, and water.
* Understanding of the UK planning system's climate impacts and familiarity with the GHG/climate change Environmental Impact Assessment process.
* Experience developing carbon management plans for infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of greenhouse gas reporting methodologies such as GHG Protocol, PAS2080, and ISO 14000 series.
* Working knowledge of UK/EU GHG policies and legislation.
* Experience leading the development of carbon management or Net Zero Transition Plans.
Additional Skills and Experience
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality service delivery.
* Experience managing, motivating, and developing staff.
* Commercial awareness in technical project delivery, business development, marketing, and proposals.
Qualifications
* Experience in delivering GHG management services in power, renewable energy, carbon capture, or water sectors.
* Experience setting greenhouse gas targets.
* Understanding of nature-based solutions and offsetting.
