Role and Department Purpose
Our coordinated business development, marketing and communications teams contribute to the setting and achievement of the firm’s business objectives, which include developing our client relationships, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and supporting our partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming our clients’ trusted advisers.
The Senior Marketing Assistant will support the Business Development (BD) team, providing day-to-day support on a variety of marketing and business development projects: winning new business (helping to produce effective client-facing brochures), growing key client and sector relationships, and raising the profile of one of our practice groups and its partners. The successful applicant will work closely with the practice group’s Business Development team and with wider business development and marketing team members from other practice groups and with other support areas such as Finance, Know-How, Document Production, Creative Services and Marketing Technology.
The role will suit someone who is highly organized and efficient, who enjoys a fast-paced work environment, dealing with a variety of work.

Role and responsibilities
The job will include, but is not limited to:
1. Assist in collating information for and delivering brochures, placemats and contact cards; presentations; legal directory (UK and Global) submissions; and deal updates
2. Assist with research requests for client BD and pitch meetings, conferences and marketing trips, and business planning exercises - eg organising and assisting with collating client/market research and financials
3. Assist with internal and external events, including preparing mailing lists, invitations and supporting materials
4. Assist in collating information for and delivering regular internal communications
5. Assist on pitch documents (both matter and panel) and credential statements for new or existing clients
6. Update website, including liaising with the Marketing Technology team to upload publications and news items, and assisting in organising related social media posts
7. Assist with the creation and distribution of client updates using our email marketing tool
8. Assist with the formatting of client facing materials including, where appropriate, liaising with the Creative Services team
9. Capture and update experience databases, to support BD activity
10. Assist with the maintenance of various marketing systems including the global experience, proposals and contacts databases, CVs and collateral module
11. Support the team, with BD and marketing initiatives and other inputs as required
Key requirements
The role would ideally suit someone with some professional services BD experience. This is an excellent opportunity to develop marketing and BD experience within the legal environment. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and possess the following attributes and skills:
* Previous Business Development experience, preferably in the professional services environment
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to multitask, managing priorities and work well under pressure
* Strong writing skills, including the ability to tailor written work product to different audiences
* Strong time management skills
* Ability to keep up to date with legal and commercial developments relevant to the practice area and sectors
* Strong client focus
* Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
Desirable
* Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
* Understanding of social media
* Strong research skills would be advantageous
