Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and GPhC-registered Pharmacist to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications, providing clinical advice, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who is passionate about community healthcare and keen to contribute to the wellbeing of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Prescription Management: Accurately dispense medications and ensure that all prescriptions meet legal and clinical requirements.
Patient Consultation: Provide expert advice to patients on the use of medications, potential side effects, and general health inquiries. Offer consultations on minor ailments, health screenings, and vaccinations.
Clinical Services: Deliver enhanced services such as Medicines Use Reviews (MURs), New Medicine Service (NMS), and other NHS or private services.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the pharmacy complies with all GPhC regulations, NHS contractual obligations, and local health authority requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
Team Leadership: Supervise and support the pharmacy team, including dispensers and counter assistants. Provide training and mentorship to ensure high standards of service and professionalism.
Stock Management: Oversee the procurement, storage, and management of medicines and other pharmaceutical products. Ensure that all stock is handled in accordance with legal requirements and pharmacy policies.
Operational Efficiency: Manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including maintaining accurate records, handling prescriptions, and ensuring a clean and organized environment.
Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service to all customers, addressing their needs with professionalism, empathy, and respect.
Health Promotion: Lead initiatives to promote public health within the community, including participation in local health campaigns and educational events.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent.
Registration: Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and maintain active status.
Experience: Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting is preferred, but newly qualified pharmacists are also encouraged to apply.
Skills:
Strong clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Proficient in using pharmacy-related software and IT systems.
