Commercial Strategy Manager / Business Manager
Location: Manchester or Stoke (Hybrid)
Role Overview
The Commercial Strategy Manager / Business Manager is a key hire as the business enters the next phase of growth following the recent merger. This rare and unique role reports directly into the Commercial Director and provides unparalleled access to the C-Suite and broad array of business activity including trading/commercial activity, pricing, strategy, M&A and Integration.
As dedicated support to the Commercial Director population you will become a ‘go to’ colleague - supporting the progression and delivery of high value commercial activity – and ultimately, the businesses ‘top line’ targets.
As a high-quality business manager with an excellent academic track record, you will have strong communications skills and attention to detail, combined with a proven track record of delivery in fast paced environments.
Typical Accountabilities
Coordinating and driving the delivery of monthly commercial reporting/presentations including liaising with the wider Exec leadership team
Preparation of high-quality presentations and insightful analysis to ‘tell the story of the business’ to a variety of stakeholders including the CEO and investors
Attendance at a range of commercial meetings, including the monthly Exec, with responsibility for capturing actions related to the delivery of commercial activity – with subsequent follow up with to ensure activity is completed in agreed timescales
Coordinate strategic planning, forecasting and budget setting on behalf of the commercial directors
Ability to respond to significant and varied information requests and co-ordinate appropriate responses from across the business
Represent commercial directors in key meetings to drive outcomes and attend meetings and take accurate comprehensive notes / minutes
Respond to and resolve complex commercial problems where precedent may not exist with appropriate authorisation

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
Strong communication and presentation skills
Highly proficient with Microsoft powerpoint and excel
Analytical with the ability to present simple analysis from complex data
Ability to work well under pressure and manage to tight deadlines
High degree of integrity and credibility with senior management
Able to work with minimal supervision or support and use initiative to tackle challenges constructively and find creative ways forward
Desirable
Degree qualified with some commerical experince in a large, fast pased business
Experience in Insurance / Financial Services would be beneficial
