We have an exciting opportunity for a Payments & Expenditure Officer to join our busy Payments & Expenditure team, where we deliver a high-quality customer focused service. This is a temporary position until 31/03/26. WHAT IS INVOLVED? You will be responsible for providing a responsive, efficient and effective purchasing and payments service to all Directorates, and actively supporting the end to end purchase to pay process. You will report directly to one of two Senior Officers in the Payment & Expenditure Team, working alongside other Payment & Expenditure Officers to ensure that the purchase to pay process is carried out effectively. We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic team player who takes pride in providing excellent customer-service. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy, be well-organised and flexible, have good IT skills and manage changing priorities. You should have a helpful approach and be comfortable working with online financial systems. These posts are subject to a Hybrid working pattern which is a combination of office and home working. Office days will normally be Green Lane, Spennymoor but you may be required to work from any DCC location. You should have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or have Level 2/3 and relevant experience of working in an accounts payable or transactional purchasing environment or in a financial services/support environment.
