Mechancial Design Engineer

Salary: Circa £45k

Your Mission:
As a Mechancial Design Engineer, you will take charge of the technical design of customer projects globally. You'll act as the primary liaison between the company and its customers for project-specific design concepts, overseeing the entire project lifecycle from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Project Management: Oversee the planning and allocation of your team’s workload to ensure timely project delivery.
2. Design Execution: Perform detailed system designs according to customer specifications.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Lead project meetings and design reviews with both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Documentation Review: Review and approve technical drawings and documentation.
5. Quality Assurance: Participate in internal and external First Article Inspections.
6. Project Coordination: Develop and adhere to design timelines in line with customer specifications and project plans.
7. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Serve as the primary interface for other departments on project-specific designs.
8. Team Development: Support and mentor the Design Engineering team, working closely with the Engineering Manager.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Educational Background: A Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or equivalent qualification (HNC) in Design, Manufacturing, Production, or Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience: At least 4 years of engineering experience.
3. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in CAD, particularly Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
4. Analytical Skills: Strong technical understanding with the ability to analyze complex data.
5. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects and workloads, driving tasks to completion on time.
6. Customer Focus: A customer-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills.
7. Team Player: Collaborative with strong communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues across different departments.
8. Organizational Skills: Well-organized, motivated, and adaptable with an open attitude.
9. Skills: Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
10. Willingness to Travel: Must be able to travel within the UK and abroad as required.
